Information about a Fieldcall or PSP visit
By now you will be aware that a Fieldcall or PSP Field Agent needs to come and visit you. But why is this?
Your lender will have been in contact with you and probably will have made arrangements with you. However now they need to get the full facts and reach an arrangement with you that will actually work.
By working with our field agent, all parties can get a complete picture of the problems facing you and see what you can really afford to clear your arrears and bring your account up to date.
You can help
Before the visit it would help to get some things ready:
- Payslips – a couple of months if you are paid monthly or 8 weeks if you are paid weekly.
- Bank statements – again, two months for each account. When people have financial problems the one thing they don’t need is a lot of bank charges. By changing the date of your monthly mortgage payment we might be able to ensure that there is less risk of it bouncing and you having to pay changes from both your bank and your lender.
- Mortgage statement and letters from your lender – a recent mortgage statement and any letters that your lender has sent you recently will help our agent clarify exactly what you owe.
- Benefits – please find the latest letters for any benefits that you receive.
- Bills – What does it cost you to run your home? If you click here you can print a copy of the form that the field agent will use. It would help to work out what you are paying each month for the various bills and also keep a note of the other items like food and clothes as these are not one big bill but a lot of different ones.
- Other debts – When people get in arrears with their payments they also tend to have other debts. Please be honest. If you owe money for Child Support, Council Tax, Utilities, Loans, Credit cards, Overdrafts, Catalogues or for anything else please make a list. In addition if you have reached an agreement with them or if you have received any letters please have them available.
About the visit
A full visit will take about an hour. It is also easier if the meeting can held around a table so that the field agent can look at all the items and write his report. If there is more than one borrower named on the mortgage it does help if both people are there for the meeting.
It is possible that your lender has made a charge to your account for this visit. However it still represents good value because:
- Our field agent’s report can give your lender a more complete picture of your financial position than is possible in a phone call.
- Your lender will have the detailed information necessary to agree a further arrangement if the report indicates that your finances will permit this.
- Our field agent may also help direct you to where you can get further help to manage your money and how to access benefits.
- The cost of our visit is significantly cheaper than Litigation where both Lenders’ and Solicitors’ costs can quickly mount up.
- And we visit you in your home.
By meeting with us you, and your lender, understand your current financial position in detail and understand what options are available to resolve the problem.
Please let us help. We look forward to meeting you.
